THE STORY BEHIND SEOTAKEOFF

Built by a founder who got tired of overpriced SEO.

SEOTakeoff is a one-person product. It exists because the gap between "hire an agency for $5K/month" and "copy-paste ChatGPT into WordPress" was too wide — and nobody else was filling it.

Founder · SEOTakeoff

I've spent the last decade shipping software, hiring agencies that under-delivered, and doing my own SEO because the economics of the alternative never made sense for a solo founder. SEOTakeoff is the tool I wish had existed when I was sitting in a coffee shop trying to pick between Ahrefs, a freelance writer, and Webflow on a Sunday afternoon.

Why SEOTakeoff exists

For most of the last five years, the options for founders who wanted organic traffic were bad:

  • Hire an agency at $2K–$10K/month, sit through weekly calls, wait a month for each article, and hope the content was actually on-brand.
  • Hire freelancers at $100–$300 per article and spend half your week editing, briefing, and chasing down drafts.
  • Do it yourself — pick up Ahrefs, learn clustering, write the articles, handle publishing. Great if you have unlimited weekends. You don't.
  • Paste ChatGPT output into WordPress and call it SEO. It isn't. Google knows.

SEOTakeoff is what happens when a founder who's shipped software commercially for years looks at that list, decides none of it is acceptable, and builds the missing fifth option: a tool that handles keyword research, clusters, drafting, on-page SEO, internal linking, schema, images, and publishing — automatically — for a fraction of the cost.

What customers say

"The content is deeper and better optimized than what our SEO person was producing using generic AI tools like ChatGPT — at 20% of the cost."

— Frederic Scherer, CEO at Jitbase

Jitbase was one of the first tenants on the platform. That quote captures the whole pitch in one sentence: deeper, better-optimized content than a human SEO operator using generic AI tools, at a fifth of the cost. It's the reason this product has a future.

Built in public

SEOTakeoff is bootstrapped. No VCs, no board meetings, no growth team. The codebase, the roadmap, and the honest decisions about tradeoffs all live on the same laptop I'm writing this from.

Ship weekly

New features, bug fixes, and small wins ship every week. See the changelog.

Where to go from here

If you want the why-and-how of using AI for SEO, start with AI SEO. If you're weighing tools, the AI SEO tools breakdown is honest about tradeoffs. If you're a solo founder, the SEO for founders playbook is the no-agency version of the same stack. If you'd rather skip the learning and just have us run the sprint, the done-for-you SEO page is where to go.

Or just start a site — $9 for the first month, cancel whenever.

Give SEOTakeoff a week.

Add your site, let it run the sprint, and see what lands. If it's not working for you by the end of the month, cancel in one click — no agency contract required.
